Nollywood actress and philanthropist, Sarah Martins, has recalled how she turned down a marriage proposal.
The actress, via her Instagram page claimed that a man had booked an entire cinema for just the two of them, where he proposed and asked for her hand in marriage.
She politely turned him down as she has seen a lot in relationships and isn’t ready for one. The movie star said she is more focused on chasing money and isn’t interested in love.
“After booking an entire cinema for just the two of us… he asked, “Will you be my woman?”
I politely said NO for now.
Omo e get as relationship go show u shege u will kuku focus on chasing money and leave love for who get am”.
Earlier this year, a rider had claimed that he lost his job after expressing his feelings for Sarah. Sharing screenshots of their chats, Sarah questioned whether she should feel sorry for costing him his job, describing his behaviour as disrespectful and disgusting.
In a follow-up post, she revealed that the rider lied about being sacked; he had only been cautioned. Martins stated that she has a pure heart and will never deprive anyone of food, regardless of their actions. She explained that her aim in reporting him was to have him cautioned.
Following his declaration of love, Sarah had treated him to a date – took him shopping and had a luxury lunch. Martins, however, made it clear that she wasn’t saying yes to his love request, but was extending her hand of love to him, reminding him that he is worthy of love and affection regardless of his status. Sarah said she isn’t the type who dates low, and she can’t fix any man to fit into her standards.
The actress later revealed that the dispatch rider is married and has a daughter. Sarah said her disappointment isn’t the fact that he lied to her, but the audacity to deny his wife and child and publicly humiliate them by professing love to him. She said this is one of the major reasons she will never date low.
